Koonung Secondary College conducts a comprehensive pastoral care program called Connections for students in Years 7 to 10.

The course focuses on encouraging our students to maximise their learning opportunities by enabling them to feel safe, comfortable and valued. students learn strategies for protective behaviour. Homework, study skills, time management and issues of self-esteem are also a focus

Year 1o students have been trained to become effective mentors to all Year 7's. There are a series of delightful mentor-related activities such as special lunches, outings, visits to class and informal get-togethers at lunchtime and recess.

Students in Years 11 and 12 participate in mentor grups where they discuss career and study pathways, develop their study skills and are motivated to achieve their best.
