Construction works on the $6.05 million first stage of the Koonung Secondary College rebuild has begun! Our local member Paul Hamer MP officially turned the first sod and it is now full steam ahead.
It was wonderful to be able to attend live performances again and our College Musical provided many memorable moments. The cast and crew of All Shook Up are to be congratulated. They entertained and delighted their audiences over seven shows with a light hearted and professional performance.
I would like to share with you a summary of the results achieved by our 2020 VCE cohort and send my sincere congratulations to all. We are extremely proud of the excellent overall VCE results, which included many outstanding individual and subject scores.
We are now taking bookings for our 2021 College Tours. Families are welcome to register via Trybooking for a Tuesday or Thursday morning tour. Please report to the general office by 9:10 for a 9:15am start.
It is no secret that Koonung SC is providing an excellent education for your children. After being selected as a 2020 winner in "The Age, Schools that Excel" list Koonung has featured in The Age on Saturday 18 May 2020.
Two recently published documents are important reminders of the importance of literacy across the curriculum as a means of increasing equity and access for all students. They both reference work which has been done by programs, domains, teams and individuals at Koonung.

I recently had the pleasure of accompanying five Year 11 girls to the Royal Women’s Hospital as part of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
Koonung Day delivered everything it promised-to be an exciting celebration of all things Koonung. The whole day was dedicated to appreciating our community and school, boasting a large selection of stalls, events and performances from students and staff.
AIR4 is a series of events aimed at showing students the careers and lifestyles available to them by following the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics educational pathways.
42 students and staff along with some experienced volunteers spent three days in the cold with snow falling and strong winds. A large group of students who had not skied before rose to the challenge with encouragement and support from their peers and staff. Well done and thank you to all involved.
Our musicals are always a not-to-be-missed event on our College calendar. Students can become involved in a range of areas: principal and ensemble cast members, choreography and dancers, musical orchestra, set construction, design and painting, stage crew, sound and lighting, and make-up.
